What are the DIY Awards?

As a result of the Coronavirus many people decided to embark on DIY projects during the lockdowns. We were flooded with our members sharing their projects with the Mr and Mrs DIY community across our social platforms. The team here at Mr and Mrs DIY HQ thought it would be great to celebrate these people and their projects so what better way to do it than with an awards event! The passion, enthusiasm and joy we have seen from people posting their projects has kept our spirits high during what has been an incredibly tough time for the nation, and we felt we needed to do something to recognise our incredible community. Some of the projects have given us the inspiration for some of our projects so it really has been amazing to be part of this community.

When will they be held?

We are very excited to launch the inaugural Mr and Mrs DIY awards this year. The awards will take place on the 18th November and will feature the very best projects from bathrooms to BBQ’s! If you are reading this right now it might be that you have undertaken your own amazing project or are here to nominate a friends or family member’s efforts. Well you have come to the right place!

This year’s awards will be held virtually on Thursday the 18th November at 8pm. We are going to live stream the awards on our YouTube channel and on Facebook and Instagram Live and the great news is that you can watch all the nominees and winners get announced regardless of if you have entered or not. We want as many people as possible to attend and celebrate some of the finest DIY projects the UK has to offer!

How to enter?

Well its really easy! Please complete the form below and upload images and video of yours or your loved ones projects. The opening date for entries is the 30th July and the closing date for applications is the 30th September.

With a longstanding history of supporting charities Mr and Mrs DIY have decided that NHS Charities Together will be our chosen to charity to directly benefit from the awards. This worthy charity will receive donations directly from the awards application process. Anyone submitting an awards application will be asked to make a voluntary donation of £5 but are welcome to donate more if they so wish. All £5 will go directly to the charity. You can donate on the following link on submitting your entry:

We will announce how much has been raised for the charity on the awards night.

How will a winner be selected?

A panel of judges including Craig and Laura will preside over the entries and elect five nominees per award category. You will be informed no later than two weeks before the event if you are a nominee.

The winners who will be announced on the night of the awards will receive nationwide recognition for their projects and winner’s packs which will include a range of special prizes to be confirmed.

All that’s left to say is good luck and we will see you in November!
